This server from a new player perspective

Hi. I'm Morgana... ingame I'm Lartholas. Just a little background: I've played on two other private MU servers and have been a GM on both. I'm also a former MU Admin. I was a little surprised to discover "Frienz" again, seeing as that's where I just came from.

So I'm brand new here. To be honest, I haven't played in a while. But here's the thing. I'm a BK working on my first reset. I'm sure you all remember how hard that is. I came to this server by myself, so I don't know anyone here and I have no one to train with.

Some of the players have been so nice... giving me two pieces of a hyperion set and an exc dragon spear and another exc blade (meh, can't remember which one right now).

But here's the thing. I'm by myself and if I'm lucky, I might get 10 levels in about 2 hours. I know where a lot of the spawn sites are, so I usually find one and work it. Well, if someone else is in that spot when I get there, even if it's someone who clearly has even less power than I do, I move along. I was taught to play MU by a GM and I was taught the rules of fair play.

Unfortunately, I don't think that a lot of the players here abide by those rules. If they are bigger (on a horse or fenrir), they just ride up and take over. That's really rude. And if you say something, they just ignore you.

So, is this the way it is here? Bigger players just bully smaller ones? Because I really don't want to have to start over again somewhere else, but I'd like to be in a friendly community.

Unfortunetly you are right but that s the way it is. I play this MU from the beginning(few years ago), and let me tell you, by far this is the worst community ever. If you say you have experience in MU games, i m sure you will find a way to deal with this server, and what can i say, try to enjoy as much as you can.

i wouldnt say our community is the worst.... but it surely has seen way better days, back when i was fully active <_<..... 2004-08, there has been times in between with serious troubles but i must admit we are reaching an all time low and my inactivity isnt helping.... i wish i had more time to "uphold the law", but i dont have time.... and every time i tried to set the server straight ppl tend to start rumours about me and how i abuse my powers, eventually it spreads and other GMs/Mods get harrassed aswell....

i still dont understand why ppl are such bastards <_< keep telling them to read and respect and follow the rules of both forum and server, but most players dont care and do whatever they want. and as such, the rules are pretty much in the players own hands... its sad....

i always encourage fairplay, having fun in the community, having fun playing TOGETHER, and spreading the big old words "PKING ISNT FUN FOR EVERYONE!", personally i find PKing a highly unnecessary thing in online games, it only provokes and makes a bad attitude spread amongst the players.... some ppl even tend to think "might makes right", meaning that, just because they are strong, they think they can do whatever they want and bully other players......

if it were me on a bad day, i would ban every single one of them, PERMANENTLY -.- .............. luckily for them, i rarely ban, and when i do ban its for a good reason <_<....



well all i can say is: GOOD JOB! KEEP GOING! keep up the attitude of fairplay and being nice to one another, its what makes the game more fun to play and longer lasting. we need more players that have a decent sense of mind and decent manners aswell. mutual respect has to start from somewhere ;)

we will do what we can to make this a nice server, but its not a onesided "battle", its both staff and players that need to fight for it.

sadly yea thats the state the server is in now. Its had way better days but the players mentality over the years has changed for the worse, ppl have become more greedy ( ppl have always bin greedy its just become a bigger issue ), they harras anything that theyd ont like just for their own enjoyment.

Its good too see that there are still some "old skool" players that treuly help and support other players but those are rare :(

i do hope you'll find a way to still enjoy this server since even under the layer of filth there still shines the glorious IEN

if you do catch any1 violating the rules be sure to report it here so the GM's can take action against the behaviour in an attempt to still keep the server in a straight path.

I thought I said this before, but maybe not... I'm playing on the NON-pvp servers. And there is a reason for that. I don't like pk'ing and don't like being pd'd. So if there's a non-pvp server, I'm there.

I really am looking to make some friends here. And I will see if I can find anyone from my old server.

No problem. I know the rules; I had been a SuperMod for about a year and a half at the time the network closed. And Las3r, one of the network owners posted this web address for people who were interested in playing MU after the server closed. Actually, since it redirects to you, you might want to just go back and put that web address back in my last post. Good way to drum up more people!. LOL And since typing it in brought me here, I thought your server had the same name. Ugh

I don't mean to come on here and make a bad impression. And I certainly don't want to sound like one of those jerks who say, "Well this is how it should be done!" because I dealt with one not too long ago. She was very full of herself, stating that she had a law degree and completely insulting every single person there (players, staff, you name it). She expected an answer within an hour of asking a question and called our staff "lazy" when she didn't get one. Stating things like "people have to sleep" and explaining that this wasn't a full-time job for us... that we were all volunteers was seen as an "excuse for your lazy owners and staff".

When I mentioned my past positions, it was just to give perspective... stating that I have been everything from a very new player all the way to MU Admin. To be honest, it's kind of weird just being a regular player and "Junior Member" on the forums after having just been a SuperMod a few weeks ago.

If you press User CP and Look under "Setting and Options" you will see an option that says : "Edit Options".

Then scroll down until you see this sentence "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default" and the check off the box and press "Save Changes"

lol he is in my guild lol....i helped him a few rrs but i was not going to baby him to 100 rr (if u know what i mean). But about the spot taking thing.... its not really his fault because there isnt any spots for people to lvl to lvl 180 (Fast) except LT7... but ya he should have aleast pt u till he got lvl 180.

Hello everyone, the topic is old but issue still exists.
I've been playing here for like 3 days and the server settings are very smart, that's probably why I am still here.
First few hours of playing I felt like being "Mr don't talk with me"
I've tried to introduce me to the server like 10 times with few minutes interval in /post. And nobody replied.
Another thing which dissapointed me is that there are plenty people spamming /post with B> or S> but nobody of them reply if you PM.
Accidently I met some people who were kind and replied to few of my questions about the server.
Otherwise I believe I would leave it in the first day of playing here.

Now I have like 4 friends already with whom I can talk.
The problems I see: the server is international but 80% of population doesn't know English - ridiculous.
Another problem is that you can't catch any Admin/GM online
No extended information about server as well.
No information about spots for newbies.
And actually only 1 spot in Arena for those who have <5 resets. Should be at least 3 if we want more population. And yes, I believe everyone wants including me.

I have donated some money and got nice items which is really helpful me to level up, but I afraid there are very few with possibilities to donate.

So now I would love not to cry but try help the server? Yup, first of all as it was mentioned before we need 1-3 new GM's.
HK it looks like you're the only who can ensure main Admin getting more admins.
Another step is attracting the server to new people. Not banning rude people, but spreading the good manners by probably sponsoring it? "Invite your friend and get 1000 Mu Cash if he reaches 5 Resets"? I believe the online will be increased at least by 10%
Also make nice guide for newbies about how to start playing on your own, and it should be availible on main page of site, not forum. Most people don't use forum.

I've got more ideas but step by step is better instead of flooding you with ideas :) So I am waiting for replies now.

HK isnt a main admin and he is only a forum moderator instead of an online admin. There are other admins but currently its seems like all 4 of them are busy with work or dont have fast enough internet (Maiku LOL).

You see the problem with IncubuS adding the option of "Free 1000 MU cash if you invite your friends" is that .... everyone in this server with make 50 accounts and send all there friends to this server. Therefore... they can buy 2 box+5 or souls (30 pack) or more stuff. Thats why it would be a BAD reason to get that.

Well about the guide for newbies that isnt a bad idea at all and i kind of requested to get that a few months back... or before the wipe. I think i will make a newbie guide and maybe give it to IncubuS and see if he would post it on his main website. Just wondering.... what would you want in a newbie guide? How to bind buttons + how to use skills + how to lvl up + warp... what else?

hmm there used to be guides on the site im guessing Inc Removed them because of all the other features he added to the new site.

as for theMU Cash thing, hotgal has a point there it wouldn't realy be an improvement for the server considering that it would be used for personal gain rather then helping the server.

PS i am a GM and not a forum mod, i just take care of the forum in Esmeralda's absence to make sure that the rules are followed. As for me not being online as much as i used to my time is just very limited.

Ah, what's wrong with you. I didn't say "get 1k mu cash for creating new account".
And I didn't say HK is main admin, I said that he is one of not many who can convince main admin (IncubuS) to recruit more admins/GMs.
Back to Friends idea: it is really powrful tool, I was invited by many of my friends to different servers in the same way, they were asking me to join them because the server is nice + they'll get a great bonus.
There is always a way to cheat, yet there is a way to prevent cheating.
As I said, the "friend" should get 10 resets before the inviter gets bonus, Is there smbody going to spend ~5 days making first 10 resets (which is the hardest part) just to get 1000mu cash? Average excellent item costs like 5k mu cash (2k item + 2 ex options + luck). Do you think it is "cheat" to spend 25 days creating 5 accounts and giving them 10 resets just to buy an item they could get from golden invasion or trade for 50 souls? No way.

Well then... i Just learned something new... i always thought you had online admin but when you always ask CAMY to ban the people online... that is why i didnt think you had admin because she was banning them.

And YES alot of people in this server have more then 1 account just to tell u stinky.... after 6 months... people here get enough mu cash to get 1 Vemon/Dk/w.e set piece with each account and they got a full set. Like i donate to buy items... and i dont like the idea of kind of cheating the system. But just image this.... if each person was able to get 1000 MU cash for each account every 10 rr.... they would be getting Sets quicker and then their wouldnt be a reason to donate to this server. I do understand how you say 2k or 5k are items... but over time by press "Vote" or refreshing the page... you get alot of points.

I totally agree on this points.... because i know people online who say.... "I saved up so much MU cash to buy a vemon set +Luck+dsr+13".... and then i was thinking hm.... how much is 1 items? So then i find out its about 5 K per item... and 5k points take a long time to gather up. so.. if i had 5 accounts and waited a few months and in that time i collected a different set and max my self out... i would have enought to get a good set.

But look at this... When people vote... they get 30 mu cash every 12 hours so... 60 = 24 hours , PLus they get 4 mu cahs every 10 mins... so you can get 60 + (4 mu cash per 10 mins[12 per day]) = More then a 100 a day... so.. i really think add the 500 mu cash will just attract people for a little while but then they will get bored. And people in this server will just take advantage of this.

As simple as that - add IP Filter, make a condition so that friend should have different IP.
Oh ya, now there will be a hacker who is having 10 MU's open each traced by own proxy to have different IP? - No!
Most of people don't know any basic knowledge, and trust me it is impossible for normal kid to write a proxy for custom port (Mu client) to let it trick the IP.
As I said the idea is to attract people, it is pretty easy to prevent "cheating", there are many ways of preventing it, I've given just few.

Hentai, only professional people can do that, and I know them pretty well - none of them is stupid enough to spend that much time for such a small bonus. Don't forget how much people we are loosing of not having any kind of "invite friend" system.
P.S. It is 10 times easier to DL "1 hit" cheat and farm kundums +5 instead. but following your rules "feature can be broken then it should be disabled" let's disable everything ;)

Here is a fact... you know the Vote button... 10 mu cash per click.... before it use to be per IP... and i was able to get like 200 points just by 2 easy CMD commands and thats all... after like a week it was changed to Username. So there is always ways to get around it stinky but its cool how you are thinking of ideas but you just need to have more knowlegde behind it and also remember incubus will have to do alot of work to do what you are saying... unless its manaually added therefore you need an admins to do it... and waste his time... get it?

Means the guy will need botnet which only serious people have or he is going to ask hacker to do the jo for him and spend more money than earn.

Anyways we are just going to debt over and over about this :) I think its a good idea but there is a con to it.

Hotgal, yes it's not ideal. Honestly Pirate Mu Server is so weak and glitched that this function is going to be alot safer than the server itself.

Yes it is 99% safe, because multi launching mu from 1 PC with few IPs is hardcore and will take lots lots of time and effort for good IT guy. If you don't believe me - Try it. the result woun't worth it. That guy will better install 1hit and go kill golden tantaloses getting the same result but 100 times less efforts spent.

no its not 99% safe and you've made it even more unsafe by your earlier post, yes i'd ban you and keep the server going why cause that would be a violation of the rules, and why shut down the feature cause 1 person can cause a hell of a havoc has happend and if the chance would present itself it would most likely happen again. SO instead of taking the risk its better to keep the balance as it is then disrupt it only for a few new members.
